Dynamic response assessment of an offshore wind turbine under Peruvian environmental conditions

Abstract This paper presents a dynamic response analysis of an offshore monopile wind turbine to be deployed at near-shore area in the south-centre part Peruvian coast (Marcona). It is 5 MW three bladed that operates aggressive environment described by its stochastic behaviour. Thus it necessary use statistical approach for characterization. The operating simulated using aero-hydro-servo-elastic computational tool (FAST) allows simulation coupled systems. After simulation, this work analyses relevant responses (thrust, torque, shear forces, and bending moments). Time series these critical zones are presented. results indicate high variability fluctuations located mudline. found due additional loads coming from ocean waves. big issue consider when designing under environmental conditions.
